FAQ
Step 1 – Before your first appointment for your ADHD assessment, forms will need to be completed. The links to the evaluation forms will be sent to you via your appointment confirmation sent by email. Please send them to us 48 hours before your appointment. This will allow your healthcare provider to review them before your appointment.
Step 2 – Initial Assessment The first appointment for the ADHD assessment is 60 minutes long. The cost of this first meeting is $395.00. During this meeting, the health professional will perform a complete assessment of your symptoms by reviewing several factors that may be related to ADHD.
The specialized nurse practitioners of the Priveo Santé team are qualified to perform the initial assessment. The diagnosis will be confirmed at the second appointment (step 3) with the doctor. If a treatment plan is required, it will be prescribed at this second appointment.
Step 3 – Following this evaluation, if the diagnosis of ADHD is confirmed, our healthcare professionals regularly prescribe additional tests such as blood samples, an electrocardiogram (ECG), and a blood pressure test. These examinations are carried out to ensure the absence of chronic pathology before medication is prescribed.
Step 4 – Treatment Plan Once the results of the blood tests, electrocardiogram and your blood pressure are received at our clinic, we will be able to schedule the second appointment with the doctor. This appointment is dedicated to initiating a drug treatment plan. This meeting lasts approximately 15 to 20 minutes, and the associated cost is $130.00.
Step 5 – Medical follow-up Our doctors recommend an initial follow-up appointment 30 days after the start of medication to ensure that the treatment plan is right for you and adequate. This follow-up appointment is also $130.00.

The minimum age to perform an assessment for ADHD in a child is 6 years old.
Assessment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) can be performed by different healthcare professionals, such as physicians, specialized nurse practitioners (SNPs), and neuropsychologists. Each of these professionals has specific skills and approaches in assessing ADHD.
Doctors, or NPs, may perform an ADHD assessment. They can assess ADHD symptoms based on specific diagnostic criteria, defined by guidelines set by the Caddra. Doctors can prescribe medication and offer medical treatments to treat the symptoms of ADHD.
A neuropsychologist is a professional who specializes in assessing cognitive functions, including attention, memory, perception, and executive functioning. Neuropsychological assessment may include detailed cognitive testing to identify specific areas of difficulty. It can also look at environmental and emotional factors that could influence ADHD symptoms. Neuropsychologists usually do not have the ability to prescribe medication, but they can recommend non-pharmacological interventions and strategies.
In summary, while doctors and NPs can provide a thorough medical assessment of ADHD, neuropsychologists focus more on cognitive and behavioral aspects, using specific tests to identify deficits.
Thanks to computer technology, no difference is observed between a telemedicine or clinic ADHD assessment. Our healthcare professionals have the experience and skills to perform this medical practice and make a diagnosis. The choice between a telemedicine or clinical ADHD assessment is based on the patient’s preference.

No, Priveo Santé is a private medical clinic, which means that the costs related to consultations cannot be reimbursed by the RAMQ. However, these costs may be covered by your private insurance or another health insurance program. We recommend that you check with your insurer.
However, if you choose to have your samples taken at Priveo Santé by the CDL Laboratory, the analysis requests prescribed during the initial assessment may be covered by several private insurers. Be aware that the request for analysis is also accepted in public service establishments governed by the RAMQ if you choose to go to a public medical centre.
